Victoria Baroque concerts are presented by the Victoria Baroque Music Society,
a volunteer run, not-for-profit charitable organization.

A CALL FOR NEW VBMS BOARD DIRECTORS

The Victoria Baroque Music Society is looking for several new directors to join the Board starting in Fall 2021.

The VBMS Board includes 12 directors plus 3 ex-officio Victoria Baroque musicians, usually meets for about an hour once a month to receive reports from the Treasurer and the Artistic Director and to deal with any matters arising concerning concerts and other events, funding and fund-raising, policies and administration, etc.

VBMS does not at present have any paid staff, though it has a part-time volunteer administrator, so Board members are involved in all activities of Victoria Baroque, sometimes with the help of outside volunteers.

Board directors are appointed for two-year terms, which can be and often are renewed. Normally a slate of nominated directors is elected at the AGM. 

In particular, as our current Treasurer is retiring, we are looking for someone with accounting expertise who might be interested in taking over this role. We would also be very pleased to have more fund-raising expertise on the Board.

NOTICE OF SOCIETY’S 2020 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Victoria Baroque Music Society Annual General Meeting will be held virtually via Zoom on Monday, 26th October, 2020, starting at 7:00 pm for the following purposes:

  • Presentation of report from the President of VBMS to the Society;
  • Report from the Treasurer to the Society;
  • Report from the Artistic Director to the Society;
  • The election of Directors of the Board for the coming year;
  • Transaction of any other business which may properly come before this meeting.

If you are interested in participating, please send us an email at victoria-baroque@shaw.ca before 19th October. An email with the AGM package of information, including Minutes and Reports, will be sent to you, as well as a Zoom registration link in due course.
