Spring Break Baroque Strings Camp

March 21 -25, 2022

A unique and exciting opportunity for advanced middle and high school string students to be immersed in baroque performance style in a chamber-ensemble setting.

The Camp is led by Victoria Baroque violinist and string teacher, Elyssa Lefurgey-Smith. Students will receive daily coaching and work on baroque style, exploring a variety of baroque ensemble repertoire, and developing ensemble skills.

Students will also have the option to play in a solo master class and perform a baroque solo piece in the final concert if they wish. Daily sessions will take place between 10 and 3. All sessions will take place at the spacious Church of St John the Divine with an ample space for physical distancing.

Maximum number of students: 16

Minimum level: grade 6 RCM or equivalent

Students over the age of 12 must provide a proof of vaccination.

Tuition Fee: $200

Students over the age of 12 must provide a proof of vaccination. Masks are mandatory. Ensembles will allow for physical distancing. Students should not attend if they are feeling ill and having symptoms (sore throat, runny nose, etc.) or have tested positive for Covid-19 within the last 7 days. Safety protocols are subject to change according to BC Public Health Orders.
