Youth Baroque Orchestra

For String Players

This small group plays without a conductor, and focus on collaborative opportunities including concertos featuring its members, projects with singers, and the opportunity to play alongside members of Victoria Baroque.

FALL PROJECT: HANDEL’S MESSIAH

Victoria Baroque is excited to present the first oratorio youth project. On Dec 16th and 17th the Youth Baroque Orchestra will be performing Part 1 of Handel’s Messiah with professional singers including one community sing along performance. Students from grade 6 RCM up are invited to participate in the overture and choruses and more advanced students are invited to audition to perform arias, one or two on a part.

Weekly rehearsals on Sunday afternoons 2.45-5.30pm
at St. Dunstan’s Anglican Church, 1806 SAN Juan Ave, Victoria

The first rehearsal will be on November 5th with the final concert on December 17th 2023.

Tuition fee: $250 per term

  • Playing fantastic music by Baroque masters Vivaldi, Corelli, Handel, Biber, and more.
  • Being part of an ensemble in which every voice counts.
  • Working as a team towards high standards.
  • Developing leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Playing alongside professional musicians.
