Tenor Adam Schmidt began his academic career as a software engineer, but after performing in his first opera with Pacific Opera Victoria (Otello, 2015) he realized that if he was going to be paid to sing, the least he could do was get some professional training! He studied Voice and Pedagogy in Victoria with Nancy Argenta and Ingrid Attrot before completing a BMus at McGill with John Mac Master. He has performed in opera, oratorio, and recital all across Canada, but is so happy to be based at home in the Pacific Northwest again. Adam lives in Vancouver with his wife, Emmalene, and two cats, Rosina and Susanna.

Victoria Baroque makes music and operates on the unceded ancestral lands of the lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen), now known as the Songhees and Esquimalt nations. We are grateful for their stewardship of these beautiful lands that nurture, inspire, and sustain us.
