March 15th-19th 2021 – Registration is now Closed
Victoria Baroque will be hosting a Spring Break Strings Camp, led by Victoria Baroque violinist and string teacher, Elyssa Lefurgey-Smith. This program is geared towards advanced middle and high school students, minimum level grade 6 RCM or equivalent.
Students will receive daily coachings and work on baroque performance style, exploring a variety of baroque ensemble repertoire, and developing ensemble skills. The registration is very limited, giving students the opportunity to each play in a chamber group and a small orchestral ensemble. Students will also have the option to play in a solo master class and perform an unaccompanied solo piece in the final concert if they wish.
Daily sessions will take place between 9.30am and 1.30pm, and some of the days may go later into the afternoon. Daily schedules amongst participants will vary to allow for small groups at all times. At the end of the Camp there will be an informal student concert which will be video recorded. All sessions will take place at the spacious Church of St John the Divine with an ample space for physical distancing. Masks will be required at all times.
Safety Protocols : are available here.
